Pesticide and growth booster : fermented vegetable garbage in molasses

For the protection of plants against herbivorous mites and parasites many farmers in South East Asia spray a diluted solution of  fermented vegetable garbage - fruits, spices leftovers from the kitchen - in molasses ( 3 to 1 by weight ).

If the vegetable garbage are fresh, then water may not be added, at least in the first stage. After at least 3 months of an anaerobic fermentation at a temperature above 30 Celsius the content is a viscous and acidic liquid whose properties are debated ( You may want to read http://www.ecowalkthetalk.com/blog/2011/03/04/responses-how-effective-are-garbage-enzymes/ ) Farmers know it works as an efficient pesticide and growth booster.
